To say this was wonderful Winter wedding is an understatement. This is the wedding of my beautiful friends Marie and Dave. You may think I’m biased, and you would be right, but this really was the most gorgeous day.
When Marie told me she was getting married I was over the moon. Marie would be marrying the man of her dreams. She asked If I would do the bridal hair for the day for herself and her bridal party. I was beside myself with excitement and jumping for joy, I felt honoured. It was going to be an amazing day, and ‘Wow’, it really was. A chic Winter wedding full of class and gorgeousness.
Marie had spent months seeking out props and decorations to coincide with her colour scheme of blush and gold, and even made many of the props herself. At times she roped me in to help, often covering me from head to toe in glitter!
Winter wedding hair
Oh my word the bridal headpiece was stunning and hand-made by Marie. Nottingham lace was hand-stitched with gold and blush coloured beads and blush pink feathers to give a 20s’ art deco look. Marie’s hair is long and fine so I used clip in extensions for more bulk. I knotted the back of the hair to bring it above the shoulder. The front was tonged to give a waved effect and finished with the headpiece and veil. I love the the result, modern but timeless and it definitely has the 20s’look that Marie was looking for. For the bridesmaids it was chignons with each one having my own little twist and finished with hand-made beaded hairpins.
Since getting married, Marie has had a few requests to make some headpieces, arm cuffs and cake sashes. Now she is busy stitching away and has set up a new business called Feathers and Lace, Good luck Marie, I know you will be very successful!
I could talk about Marie and Dave’s wedding forever, but what could be better than hearing it from Marie herself. Nottingham’s SavetheDate Magazine have featured this wedding in their ‘Real Weddings’ section, which you can read right here Marie and David’s wedding.
Look out for Pinchy the Frenchie who made a guest appearance courtesy of Hurley’s Wedding Day Dogs . The flowers were designed and supplied by the very talented Sue from Royces flowers simply stunning.
If you are considering a winter wedding I would highly recommend it. Such a magical time of the year. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss your requirements.
Thank you Marie and Dave for letting me share your beautiful day.
